Bishop Kenneth Turner often shares that he spent years running from the calling that God had over his life, but an inevitable chain of events led him to giving his life to Christ and each step he took from that moment directed him to the place where he today.
In 1979, a new chapter began with marriage, setting the foundation for a life of partnership and shared faith. Two years later, in 1981, he experienced pivotal moments of God's Voice guiding him to accepting Christ and getting baptized. This marked the beginning of a profound journey devoted to understanding God's Word and actively participating in the church community.
With a growing passion for music and worship, he joined the mass choir, where his talents as a soloist uplifted many. His voice not only carried melodies but also the depth of his faith, touching the hearts of congregants and enhancing the worship experience for all.
Ordination as a deacon followed, a role that honed his skills in leadership and service. This experience was instrumental in laying the groundwork for his future roles, providing him with invaluable insights into church administration, pastoral care, and community engagement. His time as a deacon cemented his reputation as a committed servant of God and his people, building a solid foundation within a community of believers that continued to influence his life profoundly.
Seeking to expand his horizons and serve in new capacities, he joined another church after his home church's leaders passed away. At this new church, he quickly adapted and was eager to again be active in ministry. Pastor took on the roles of Sunday School superintendent and Bible Study teacher. His leadership in these areas was marked by a deep commitment to Biblical education and personal growth for all ages. Leading a men’s ministry, he made an indelible impact on both the church members and the wider community, showcasing an unmatched ability to connect with and inspire men in their faith journey.
These experiences were crucial in preparing him for the next phase of his calling. Guided by divine inspiration, he was led to our church, where he assumed the role of pastor and was later ordained as bishop. His leadership has been characterized by kindness, supportiveness, understanding, and a readiness to listen—a shepherd who truly cares for his flock.
Pastor has never been one to complain, always seeking to assist anyone in any way possible. His leadership style is deeply rooted in the teachings of the Bible, standing on the firm foundation of Christ Jesus our Lord. He constantly encourages the congregation to study and apply the Word of God in their daily lives, fostering a strong, personal relationship with Jesus.
Under his guidance, our church has grown not only in numbers but in spiritual depth, with many finding solace, guidance, and a sense of belonging within our community. His teachings emphasize the importance of faith, service, and love, inspiring us to live out these principles in our own lives.
Pastor's path from a devoted church member to a respected bishop is a testament to his unwavering faith, dedication to service, and compassionate leadership. He is a shepherd that cares for his flock going above and beyond to be there for our members and their families. His impact on individuals and the community at large is profound, making him a beloved leader whose legacy of faithfulness and love continues to inspire all who know him.
